Why Bondat Is Starting in Malaybalay

Some ideas begin with a business opportunity. Others begin with a problem waiting to be solved.

Bondat began with something more personal: a desire to use technology to give back to the place called home.

That place is Malaybalay City, Bukidnon.

Malaybalay is more than the location of our first launch. It is where the motivation behind Bondat becomes real. It is where local merchants work hard to build something of their own, where riders look for opportunities to earn, and where everyday customers want simpler ways to discover and order from businesses around them.

If Bondat is going to make a meaningful difference, this is where we want that difference to begin.

Nearly a decade of building and improving systems

For almost ten years, the person building Bondat has worked as a software developer.

That journey has involved developing systems, improving processes, and turning repetitive manual work into something faster and more manageable. Over the years, one lesson has remained clear: technology matters most when it solves a real problem for real people.

A system can be technically impressive, but its true value is measured by what it changes.

Does it save someone time?

Does it make an opportunity easier to reach?

Does it help a small business grow?

Does it make everyday life a little less difficult?

Those questions became the foundation for Bondat.

The businesses that deserve to be discovered

Starting a food business takes courage.

A new merchant may have a great product, a recipe people would love, and the determination to keep improving—but still struggle to be seen. Building awareness takes time. Marketing can be expensive. Reaching customers beyond an immediate circle can be difficult, especially while also managing orders and running the business day by day.

This is one of the reasons Bondat was created.

We want to help local merchants showcase what they make and connect with customers who are already looking for it.

When someone asks for an affordable lunch, a filling merienda, food for the family, or something new to try, Bondat should help introduce them to relevant choices from nearby merchants.

For an established restaurant, that may mean another way to reach local customers. For someone who is still new in business, it may mean being discovered for the first time.

Technology should not only work for businesses that are already visible. It should help promising local businesses become visible.

Creating more ways to earn

Bondat is also being built with riders in mind.

Behind every delivery is a person using their time, effort, and knowledge of the community to help an order reach its destination. As more merchants connect with more customers, we hope that more delivery activity can also create meaningful earning opportunities for local riders.

We know that a platform cannot promise opportunity simply by existing. It has to earn the trust of customers, support merchants well, and create enough real activity to benefit the people doing the work.

That is why we want to build carefully.

The goal is not growth for its own sake. The goal is to create a system in which customers, merchants, and riders can all find value.

Why begin at home?

It can be tempting to believe that a new technology company must begin in the biggest possible market.

We believe it can begin somewhere meaningful.

Malaybalay gives us the chance to build close to the community we want to serve. We can listen directly, learn how people actually order food, understand what local merchants need, and improve Bondat based on real experiences rather than assumptions.

Starting here keeps us accountable.

When the people using the platform are our neighbors, fellow business owners, friends, and families, every detail matters more. A confusing experience is not just a product issue. A merchant who feels unsupported is not just a number. A rider without enough information is not just an operational statistic.

They are members of the same community we hope to help.

Bondat is the guide. Pakals is the platform.

Bondat is the friendly AI food buddy customers can talk to when they want help deciding what to eat or where to order.

Pakals is the local food-ordering platform that brings the experience together—connecting customers with merchants and, as the delivery network grows, with riders.

Instead of asking customers to search through endless choices, we are building an experience that starts with a simple conversation:

“What are you craving?”

From there, Bondat can help customers discover nearby food that fits what they need, while giving local merchants another opportunity to be found.

The technology may be powered by AI, but the purpose is deeply human: making useful connections within the community.

Built with Malaybalay, not only for Malaybalay

Bondat is still being built and polished. We know the first version will not have every answer, and we do not want to develop it behind closed doors.

We want to learn from the people who may one day use it.

If you are a customer, we want to understand how you choose and order food today.

If you are a local merchant, we want to hear what makes it difficult to reach customers and manage orders.

If you are a rider, we want to learn what would make delivery work clearer, safer, and more worthwhile.

Your experiences can help shape what Bondat becomes.

A small beginning with a meaningful purpose

Bondat was not created simply to build another application.

It was created from years of experience using software to improve systems—and from a belief that those skills can create an impact at home.

The vision begins with a local merchant gaining a new customer. A rider finding another opportunity to earn. A family discovering a meal they will enjoy. One useful connection at a time.

Malaybalay City is where the story starts because Malaybalay is home.

And when you want to build something that matters, home is a meaningful place to begin.
